10 Tips to Have a 1st Family Meeting about Preparedness and Life Transition Topics

Image
Tier 1 Preparedness   10 Tips to Have a 1st Family Meeting about Preparedness and Life Transition Topics  1. Start with love, not fear. “I want us prepared because I love this family.” 2. Use Memorial Day as the opening. “Since we’re remembering legacy, let’s talk about protecting ours.” Post-Memorial Day, use any national holiday to open with "Family is so important. That's why we're here today. Let's talk about protecting ours...let's talk about preparedness." 3. Keep the first conversation short. Aim for 15–20 minutes, not a full family summit. 4. Begin with general preparedness, such as documents and information we should have on hand at all times. Start with emergency contacts, documents, insurance, medications, and communication plans.   Expect youngsters by age 13, to have their identity information on hand also...at all times!   5. Ask, don’t lecture. “If something happened, would we know where your important papers are?” 6. Make it ...

Fed up? $tep Up!

Century 5-10-10-75 continues to move forward, to innovate economic solutions that promote preparedness equity, especially in the African American community.  Why? I n order to avert the 2053 prediction of Zero Median Family Black wealth. Yes, that trajectory remains unchanged, due in large part to the majority of $2.1 Trillion (2026)   in African American disposable income that  continues to leave our control within the day, everyday, since 1877.   As a result of our daily spending and banking decisions, the majority of our hard-earned  dollars continues to return, churn, and compound to the enrichment of another culture, generation after generation. What does Zero Median Wealth Mean? It means a majority of  African American families will experience:  Lifetime employment Lifetime indebtedness No retirement  Diminished quality of life.  Lest we think this prognosis affects only African Americans, the same prediction applies to...

Exodus 2026. Return to...Faith. Preparedness. Trust.

Image
Faith/Love | Preparedness | Communications/Trust  What carried African-descended people through the horrors of the Middle Passage, slavery, Reconstruction, and Jim Crow was not merely survival instinct.   It was the disciplined preservation of humanity under pressure. Our ancestors possessed a powerful “Triple Threat” that enabled them not only to endure oppression, but to create family, faith, enterprise, music, language, invention, and culture in the midst of it. That Triple Threat was: Faith/Love | Preparedness | Communications/Trust These were not abstract ideals. They were strategic assets. Those of us, who are "Middle Passage" descendants, are here, because of Ancestors who refused to give up, or give in. Faith and love gave people the spiritual stamina to believe tomorrow could still exist, even when today was brutal. They were futurists, all of them! Preparedness gave them the practical ability to endure hardship, protect family, and seize opportunity when it ...

Essential Talents Summer Camp 2027

Image
Good Friday!🌞 Something to Look Forward To! Essential Talents Summer Camp 2027…for Adults What if the most valuable people in the next economy are not the richest… but the most useful? In a fragile economy, people chase money. In a disrupted economy, people chase usefulness. That’s why WePrepare.Us , Century 5-10-10-75, and the Preparedness AD Council are developing an entirely different kind of summer experience for 2027: Essential Talents Summer Camp…for Adults. This isn't about survivalism or fear. For African Americans this is about preparedness fortification. FAITH, PREPAREDNESS, and COMMUNICATION have been our "Triple Threat"  through the ages, to overcome obstacles, and neutralize dangers  in order to survive, revive, and THRIVE. We need to resurrect that preparedness DNA throughout our culture! - Pam Kelly ------------------- Usefulness saves. -------------------  Imagine spending Summer 2027 learning practical, barter-worthy, life-enhancing skills a...

Essential Talents Summer Camp 2027 ...for Adults

Image
Essential Talents Summer Camp 2027… 12 Saturdays - for Adults - Virtual - June 3rd  - August 28, 2027. 11:00 am - 12:30 pm EST  For generations, Americans have been taught to measure security almost exclusively through money, income, and material wealth. Yet history repeatedly reminds us that financial systems are fragile. In moments like 9/11, the 2008 recession, and other economic shocks, fortunes evaporated almost overnight. Retirement accounts collapsed. Businesses disappeared. Careers ended. Some people lost not only their wealth, but also their hope. This reality forces us to confront an uncomfortable truth: Money is valuable — but it is not the highest form of security. What if the most valuable people in the next economy are not the richest… but the most useful? In a fragile economy, people chase money. In a disrupted economy, people chase usefulness. That’s why WePrepare.Us, in association with the  Preparedness AD Council are developing an entirely differ...

R.A.W.

Image
As an American citizen, I have become increasingly RAW since the last general election. Fed up! Radical. Agitated. I've been r eady to get into "good trouble", as Congressman Lewis put it, to address the unpreparedMESS that has become America. Most hardworking Americans have better solutions than the current Washington administration! Do you agree? We can stay agitated or get activated!πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾 As Founder of the Perennial U-Verse (WePrepare.Us | Century 5-10-10-75) I have a journalistic opportunity for those interested and like-minded. I will be publishing a new digital monthly called R.A.W. - Radical. Activist. Wellthy. The content is raw, no sugarcoating, no accommodation for "snowflake" tendencies, solution driven. RAW, yet without vulgarity. The truth doesn't need profanity! America is at a turning point in history where activism is not optional. We are either people of faith inaction or faith in action. The "United" States is barely a...

A Shut-Down Strikes Again... R U "Non Essential Personnel"?

Image
THE "ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL" PREPAREDNESS GUIDE How to Prepare Financially, Strategically, and Tactically Before the Next Shutdown by Pamela Kelly Millions of Americans are living financially, strategically, and tactically unprepared. This reality is validated by sobering statistics showing that nearly 67% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck — including approximately 40% of six-figure earners. Many people assume they are safe because life appears stable today. But stability can disappear overnight. COVID proved that. During the pandemic, a critical divide emerged between those classified as “essential personnel” and those who were not. Entire industries were halted. Jobs vanished. Supply chains failed. Families found themselves scrambling for food, cash, medicine, communication, and certainty. I was fortunate. I was classified as essential utility personnel and continued working during the shutdown. Had I not been considered essential, the financial consequences for...

White Elephant

By Pamela Kelly ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In recent months there have been many conversations in the African American social media community about re-building Black Wall Street, both virtually and brick and mortar, as it existed in Greenwood, Hayti, and so many Black communities in the 1880's through the 1950's.  It was apparent then, that you can't have a "Black Wall St." without the presence of a Black Banking infrastructure.  Those born in the 70's and beyond have no recollection or awareness of the origin of Black Banks, as a necessary strategy in response to segregation and discrimination. This financial activism thrived through the Jim. Crow era, only to be curtailed in the 60's, after Eurocentric owned banks opened their doors to African American account holders.  That lack of cultural memory becomes problematic of every conversation about re- creating "Black Wall Street."  ...
