No Matter Who Wins the White House...

Image
Good Evening Preparedness.Club friends. Spoiler Alert! We seem to place so many hopes on one Presidential candidate or the other. Yet, no matter who wins the White House, African Americans, young and old, will continue to experience incidents of physical, emotional, and economic bullying...no matter your celebrity, money, titles, beauty, neighborhood, etc. Who among us has gone unscathed? And now we face #Project2025 and the prediction of Zero median wealth by 2053 . The good news is that God is able to flip the script, if we keep calm and praypare. In my humble opinion, the following peacefully aggressive economic moves, by a critical mass of 1 0,000 African American families will flip the script... Make 5-10-10-75 our Common Core Math. It combines faith & old school economic wisdom to become financially resilient. Fortify, fortify, fortify  the family. Make Tier 1 Preparedness a year-round family goal. Be a merchant. and an idea producer in the preparedness industr...

The iPrep2Thrive™ MAG (Mutual Assistance Group) has been renamed as a MRG (Mutual Resilience Group)

Image
Update! As of 9-12-2024, the iPrep2Thrive™ MAG (Mutual Assistance Group) has been renamed as a MRG (Mutual Resilience Group)  to more aptly describe our mission to fortify preparedness   and most importantly  resilience  before, during, and beyond at-risk events. This description also distinguishes us from the traditional MAGs, some of which have a negative connotation. i.e. Take the "A" off MAGA and what do you get?  Also the "assistance" tag would have misconstrued that we are a physical rescue deployment entity, or that we "assist" in direct provision of recovery resources. As a primarily virtual group, that's beyond the scope of my founding intentions. We want to empower MRG members to be  self-prepared and fortified , as best they can, strategically and tactically.  We will keep the same focus on the 3 resource POWERS: *Water *Energy (for electro-mechanical activities) *Communications Join a new frontier of innovation and fellowship in the ...

It's time for "Kind" Capitalism

Image
With regard to #Prediction2053, and the topic of wealth, Capitalism and profit are often "demonized" in the African American community, and particularly the Christian community. I grew up hearing "money is the root of all evil", or "if you go into business, start a non-profit", which to me, is a contradiction in terms! As a result we seem more inclined to get on the non-profit treadmill, rather than outright entrepreneurialism. However, it is profit, which is not allowed with a non-profit, that drives the majority of investment in actual construction of brick and mortar spaces that can benefit the common good. Blame Capitalism's "bad rap" on the profiteering-driven regime that has dominated the economy since 1619, that's right, since the first enslaved person become an unethical source of profit. That's the "system" we're still immersed in to this day, that profiteers from the financial unpreparedness and physical o...

September is National Preparedness Month - Harness your POWERS: Water, Energy, Communications!

Image
Hi, iPrep2Thrive Members and Patrons! September is National Preparedness Month.  This month’s theme has historic significance, as we prepare for an upcoming Election! In addition to the possibility of post-election shenanigans in November,  the hurricane season, ongoing COVID outbreaks, an at-risk economy, and global tensions combine to make  family and collective preparedness more necessary than ever before. Today is also the 23 rd  anniversary of 9/11.    Back in 1996, the reasons that motivated me to begin promoting lifestyle readiness, even more so after 9/11, remain just as relevant today. Preparedness means different things to everyone.  "Doomsday prep" for some,  Retirement & Investments Preparation for others. It's a wide spectrum.  In 1996, with a good job, 401K, and steady paychecks, preparedness didn't mean a thing to me, until Hurricane Fran . It was  "personal doomsday" that brought me to my knees: financially and tact...
